Tools of the trade for Fantasy Explorers

The top explorers never set out for adventure without their gear. All they know is that they’re going into a danger-filled area though they don’t know what kind they are. It would be foolish to go there without having the tools they need to make it out safely. But they can’t carry just any tools. It’s important that they have the right ones with them.

Fantasy explorers never step foot inside an unknown place without having their trusty book with them. The book is full of the things they’ve written about over their careers, contains knowledge that only they understand, or is written in an ancient language that can be used to decipher words on the walls. In short, the book is their go-to tool when they need information.

The novel is in front of a gradient blue background with the darker shade directly behind it and the lighter outside it. It can end on a book cliffhanger.

Having a book is useless if there’s nothing to protect yourself with. It is for this reason that many explorers carry a weapon with them. It could be a sword or gun, depending on the world’s technological level, but having one helps them defend against intruders or vicious beasts.

Sometimes it can be difficult to see a potential danger from afar which is why fantasy explorers almost always have a telescope with them. Telescopes are useful when trekking though a new environment like the jungle or seeing whether the destination they’re searching for is within sight. They can also be used to spot traps from a distance, enabling them to find a different route or giving them the time they need to figure out how to render them ineffective.

Last and not the least is the mighty whip. The whip is a versatile tool as it can effortlessly strike a target from a safe distance, let explorers swing across a chasm, or retrieve an artifact surrounded by traps. They never leave home without a whip!

Adventures and Fantasy Explorers

What kind of places call explorers’ names? Each world is filled with a number of areas that are waiting for someone to find the courage within themselves to go in and see what they have. They’re spread out all over the world, usually in the middle of harsh environments that make traveling near impossible.

One popular place is the dungeon. It comes in a variety of sizes and shapes and are found in many different parts of the world. It also contains elemental versions like fire and water. Within them lurk monsters and priceless treasure. Only those who are adept in battle can vanquish these beasts and retrieve the treasure found deep inside.

The dungeon sits atop a floating island in the blue sky. Several other floating islands are seen as well as white clouds. Dungeons are one thing that can be used when making a myth.

The second one is the cave. These subterranean tunnels are prime territory for fantasy explorers to spelunker through. Though they have to contend with bats and other creatures, explorers love caves for there’s no telling what they’ll find as the lanterns they’re using shine light upon these dark places!

Ruins are a prime attraction for explorers. As leftover relics of a long-lost civilization, they offer explorers the chance to learn more about the history of the world. They’re not for the faint of heart though, for they’re rife with traps and beasts who’ve move in since. Those who aren’t on their guard at all times when scouring through ruins will become permanent residents.

Another place fantasy explorers can’t get enough of is mines, especially abandoned ones. Found deep within mountains, they offer clues about the past and explorers endeavor to understand how they came to be abandoned as well as research the technologies used for their civilization. They are not without danger though, for abandoned mines are a magnet for goblins and other subterranean creatures who’ve taken up residence in addition to its crumbling infrastructure that can take someone out in an instant.

The Role fantasy Explorers Serve in the World

Every world in the genre is shrouded in mystery, both for your audience and the people who live there. These mysteries range from the relics of long-vanquished civilizations to strange phenomenon like ghosts. Also, there’s still much of the world that hasn’t seen the touch of civilization yet.

It is the job of fantasy explorers to investigate and unravel them. By doing so, they help people learn about the world they call home so that they gain a better understanding of it. One way they do so is to go into lands nobody’s been to before and walk around. They document what they see, the places they discover, and so on, and return to the known world where they reveal their findings.

Above the waterfall is a floating sky island with a gray castle that has four spires jutting out of it. The sky is orange and has oval clouds. Looking ahead to the next place to go is one way to show how to end a chapter.

Another way they contribute to the world is by entering dangerous places like dungeons or ruins where they stumble upon artifacts brimming with powers. They study them and work to understand the technology used in making them so that they can devise their own with their people with the goal of making their country better. Using them will eventually give rise to new technologies down the road that will revolutionize everything as they know it.

The third way fantasy explorers serve the world is by documenting the unusual monsters they encounter while on their travels. This way, they let people know what to keep an eye out for and avoid the areas where they’ve been spotted. Some even muster up the courage to face them head-on though the majority choose not to.

Many explorers give lectures and presentations on the things they’ve discovered throughout their career with the express purpose of sharing their knowledge with their fellow citizens. They want as many people to know about them with the hopes that some of them will be so inspired that they go into the field for themselves. Over time, more and more of the secrets of the world will be unearthed and people will know more in the future than they do at the present.

Tying it all Together

There’s a lot of fun to be had for fantasy explorers. Some never pass up the opportunity to venture inside a pitch-black cave with a lantern and the weapon of their choice to guard against what they might stumble upon. Others relish walking around destroyed pillars written in the language of the ancients, searching for something they can use to help decipher their meaning.

Only foolish explorers head off for adventure with only their minds and nothing else. Tools like books or weapons help them navigate traps and face off against hostile creatures and just might mean the difference between them finding what they came for and never leaving at all.

Adventure is in the DNA of all fantasy explorers. They have a deep thirst for knowledge and investigating places clouded in mystery satiates that thirst. There’s a whole array of places waiting for them, places like a long abandoned castle high up in the mountains to a haunted mansion rumored to conceal a powerful artifact deep within a jungle!

Explorers help the world by shining light on the unknown. That unknown could be a landmass or a dungeon found in the depths of a volcano. By boldly stepping into these places, they document what they see and bring back their findings, should they make it out all in one piece by the way, to share with the world.

Many worlds incorporate fantasy explorers since they help both your audience and the people living there learn more about them. That means, by bringing them into yours, they get to see places they otherwise wouldn’t and learn about their mysteries!
