A Celebration of the Great Heroes of Memorial Day 2024

One of several fantasy characters, the hero has yellow skin and brown hair and mustache. He's wearing a red jacket over his gray shirt. He has gray pants and brown shoes. He's holding a sword with a brown hilt with his left hand. The background is a blue gradient going from light at the bottom to dark at the top.

Celebrating Memorial Day

Today is a special day for us Americans. As we come together to enjoy Memorial Day, we must never forget why we celebrate this day. Today is the day we honor all those who’ve fallen in battle as well as those who are serving in the military to protect us. Every single soldier is a hero and they help protect our freedoms.

We show our respect by celebrating in our own way. We attend parades, go to special events, but most of all, we spend time with our loved ones. While the majority of us barbecue (and who doesn’t love a good barbecue?), a great deal of us go to cemeteries to pay our respects to the fallen. We must never forget the sacrifices they made for us.

Choosing to defend your country requires great courage and that courage deserves to be commended. If you get the chance today, speak with a soldier, whether active or a veteran, and thank him for his service. They have many stories to tell so listen to them, if they’re willing.

We must also keep the families who’ve lost their loved ones in battle in mind on this Memorial Day. They suffered a loss only families with members serving in the armed forces can understand. This day is sacred to them, for they celebrate it a different way than we do. We thank them for having such courageous people who volunteered to serve. Their sacrifice will always be remembered.

Do something special today to pay tribute to the fallen. Even if it’s a small thing like toasting with your favorite drink or wearing the flag lapel. For those with flags, they raise them up high and let them sway in the wind. If you happen to go to a cemetery, bring some flowers so you can lay them on the gravesite of a hero. Those little things mean a lot to someone.

This article is dedicated to all those serving America. We at Viernor thank you for keeping us safe and we will never forget why we celebrate Memorial Day.

Have a fantastic Memorial Day!

Thanks for reading this and until the next time,
