A Spooky Season

Well today’s October 31, also known as Halloween. It’s one of the most special days of the year, for both adults and children get to wear all kinds of wacky but fun costumes!

Halloween isn’t just celebrated here in America, it’s celebrated worldwide. While many countries have their own way of marking this holiday, we Americans honor it by partaking in activities. Kids get to go trick-or-treating and get candy by going door to door whereas adults attend parties.

There’s nothing like seeing ghosts and pumpkins all over and eating candy corn or other assorted Halloween treats. There’s also nothing like seeing kids come home with bags overflowing with candy. Yes, Halloween is truly a special day for everyone.

And the parties are full of splendid decorations that truly capture the spirit of the holiday. You have webs and flickering candles and so many others. There’s skeletons and ghosts that hang on the wall or from the ceiling.

Even better than the decorations are the food. The punch is bloody red, and the cookies shaped like ghosts and pumpkins. There’s also some food shaped like eyeballs! Someone might put their hand in a bowl full of wrapped candies, only for it to be caught by the hand at the bottom of the bowl.

Only one thing can top the food and decorations and that’s the costumes. Each year brings with it some new ones but the classics are still popular. You see people dressing up like ghosts and witches. Some new ones that’ve become a hit are those from Star Wars — like Darth Vader and Princess Leia — and from Super Mario Brothers — even though you see a lot of kids dressed up like Mario and Peach, a number of adults wear them.

Have a Fun Halloween!

Halloween isn’t just about candy and parties. It’s also about spending time with the people in your life. We go to parties because we want to see the people there. We go trick-or-treating with our kids because they want to and we used to do that with our parents when we were kids.

So take some time out today to spend time with those in your life and have a screaming time of it — see what I did there haha? For this day only comes once every year and we all should take advantage of it. You don’t have to dress up or throw a party, just enjoy the zaniness of the holiday with your family and friends.

To you all, have a fantastic Halloween!
